Two days of sport in Cornelia

Mafube First held a two-day sports tournament in Cornelia, with netball on the Saturday and football on the Sunday. Young players turned out for both codes and got a proper stage to show what they can do, and the community came out to support them. The netball was played well and watched well. On the Sunday the teams took to the field for the football. Winners in both codes took home prizes, including cash for the winning sides.

Mafube First runs programmes like this for a straightforward reason. The young people of Mafube are active and capable, and they deserve occasions built around them, where their energy and their talent have somewhere to go. Sport does that better than almost anything else. It gives young people something to train for, something to belong to, and a weekend worth showing up for, and it brings the rest of the town out to stand behind them.
